I have been promoted just recently from purchasing assistant to purchaser. Our purchasing manager must have seen my hard work and perseverance. Anyway, I am now handling the engineering requirements of the company. In short, all the tools, spare parts, electrical/mechanical/industrial/construction supplies that need to be purchased are coursed through me. Believe me, I have to make an extra effort studying those items and familiarize myself to every ‘parts’ they need. One month in the position, I received a purchase request, through our purchasing system, for an actuator. I immediately emailed suppliers asking for quotations but it must have been not my lucky day because all suppliers don’t have the part I need. I then asked our Purchasing Manager if I can purchase it online, considering the current situation and fortunately he obliged. To cut the story short, I was able to find an online supplier of Linear Actuator with Potentiometer that I needed. Much to my luck, it was offered at a discounted price. In no time, the actuator was delivered to us and the requisitioner was so happy he sent my manager an email, copy furnishing me, commending my fast and efficient response. Thanks to Progressive Automations, it made my corporate life easier.
